Europa League draw: Man United to face Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce

The UEFA Europa League first-round draw took place on Friday, with a clash between Manchester United and Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in Turkey headlining the fixtures.

Mourinho won the Europa League while in charge of United in 2017, and moved to the Istanbul-based club this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s team also face a trip to Porto’s Estádio do Dragão.

As with the Champions League, UEFA has amended the format by creating an eight-game league phase and expanded the competition to 36 teams.

Unlike in previous years, no teams will drop down from the Champions League after the first round.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will play Daniele De Rossi’s Roma at home in their opener as well as a trip to Galatasaray.

Rangers were drawn against both United and Tottenham, with the game at Old Trafford coming in the first matchweek.
