TRENDING RUMORS
– Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham United are all interested in AC Milan star Christian Pulisic, reports Calciomercato. The Rossoneri don’t want the 26-year-old United States international to leave due to his impressive form, but have let their better players depart for the correct figure in the past — and that could be the case here if the Serie A giants receive an offer of over €60 million.
– Manchester City could look to re-sign Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to Football Insider, with this coming as Kyle Walker approaches the last years of his career. At 23, Frimpong is seen as a long-term option for the Citizens while Brentford’s Sepp van den Berg is also being looked at for their defence.
– Arsenal are carefully monitoring Dusan Vlahovic‘s situation at Juventus, reports Rudy Galetti, who adds that the Gunners are expected to meet the striker’s agent soon to gather fresh information on the 24-year-old. Juventus are open to letting Vlahovic leave and are already working on possible replacements for the Serbia international.
– Manchester United hope to agree a deal with Sporting CP for young winger Geovany Quenda in January, with a view to him moving to Old Trafford next summer, A Bola reports. New United boss Rúben Amorim has pledged not to poach any players from former club Sporting in the winter window, but United could realise their long-held interest in 17-year-old Quenda ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The Portugal U21 international has a release clause of €100m.
– Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl has been following Lille striker Jonathan David for years, with interest now increasing as the 24-year-old will be a free agent in the summer if he doesn’t renew his contract. Bayern could look to bring David in as a strong back-up to Harry Kane, although Internazionale and Juventus also like the Canada international.
EXPERT TAKE
ESPN’s Mark Ogden gives his verdict on Christian Pulisic possibly returning to the Premier League:
Pulisic is enjoying the best season of his career with Milan and seems to have found a place where he can thrive after a difficult time at Chelsea. Already this term he’s got seven goals and four assists for the Rossoneri in all competitions, and in Serie A he’s ranked fifth for chances created (24) and seventh for expected assists (2.11).
But as much as Pulisic is having a great season with Milan, I don’t see any of those potential moves being a possibility — certainly not in January.
Liverpool are stacked with attacking players, and their priority is to bolster Arne Slot’s midfield having failed to sign Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi during the summer window.
And United, who like Liverpool have considered a move for Pulisic in the past, are just setting out under new coach Rúben Amorim and it’s unlikely that the former Sporting CP coach has arrived at Old Trafford with the USMNT star at the top of his list of potential signings. But a bigger issue would be the fee — United don’t have the money spend €60m on a player with a chequered past in the Premier League.
West Ham? Unless Pulisic is desperate to give up the Champions League with one of Italy’s biggest clubs for a Premier League relegation battle, you can forget this one.
